Classic Cover Ellerslie Car Show - 13th February 5pm - 10.30pm and 14th February 2026, 10am - 4pm
NZ’s premier classic car show since 1972
The second Sunday in February has become a highlight in every New Zealand car lovers’ calendar. Thousands of car enthusiasts visit Ellerslie Racecourse to enjoy a different type of horse, the ones found under the bonnets of this country’s biggest line up of classic cars– many of them regarded among the world’s best restorations.
The Intermarque Concours d'Elegance is central to the show, celebrating classic and marque cars with competitions of an international standard based on presentation, appearance, originality, and excellence. The finest examples of cars compete for coveted awards in several classes – Teams, Masters, Survivors, 30/40/50 & Modified and ‘Little Legends’ a special judged class for scaled or pedal cars. This year will see a new competition Rue d'Elegance judged on a completely different scale.
Aside from the Concours cars, about 80 car clubs will create the biggest display of car marques from all around the globe. Clubs will be doing their best to represent this year’s theme, World of Motorsports, so expect to see a good representation of speed across the era's.
The show is organised and run by volunteers from participating car clubs and all the proceeds made, are paid out to the clubs displaying on the day. The Host Club is the Early Holden Club so expect to see Ozzie car centre of the show.
For anyone coming with a personal classic car, there is the Park and Polish, a competition for the general public!
Cars are directed to the special area beside the main pedestrian entrance and prizes are awarded at the start of the main prizegiving.
