CLASS TWO: Comfort Measures for Birth (Birth practice)
About this Event
CLASS TWO: Comfort Measures for Birth (Birth practice)
This class includes a reframe on pain. It integrates movement, and includes demonstrations in a birth room. Birth stations are used for labor practice as individuals and their team practice skills and learn to cue without words. Penny Simkin’s principles of rhythm, ritual, and relaxation are used, and birth partners may wish to dive deeper and read her book. Movement and position changes are grounded in the principles of body trust. They include active positions, restful positions, positions with tools, and pushing positions.
This class is the second portion of the labor preparation. It builds on the first class. If a person has had a baby before, this class is a great standalone class, or ideally could be combined with the Life after the Baby course to include individualized postpartum planning.
