Join Ashley Paul as she teaches about color theory and basic techniques to get students started in the art of watercolor. The learning objectives are as follows:Week 1: Basics of Watercolor Painting
-Using watercolor paper to explore blending, layering of colors
-Apply color wheel knowledge for shadows & highlights
-Learn brush strokes & techniques (wet on dry, wet on wet, dry brush, etc)
-Talk about which tools and materials are best for this medium
Week 2: Practice & Review Techniques
-Review basic techniques & implement them into paintings
-Learn light sketching and pencil work under watercolor pieces
-Use learned techniques to create new pieces of art
Week 3: Play & Review
-Open painting or "play" around with colors, shapes and skills to create abstract art
-Review all techniques
-Start/Plan final piece
Week 4: Create A Work Of Art
-Use all techniques learned to create a painting
-Encourage students to keep learning and practicing
**Students will be responsible for their own brushes. Any variety pack of Watercolor brushes will be acceptable.**
