CLASS OF 1970 50TH REUNION

Congratulations CLASS OF 1970! We are now at 50+1 years out from that glorious day some of us considered “freedom”…well, most of us. Reservations for the Class of 1970 50th can be made via this website (or by sending a check made out to Class of 1970 Reunion for $50.00 - c/o Steve Mendenhall 8030 La Mesa Blvd. #72, La Mesa, CA 91942). All reservations must be made by Thursday, June 10th, 2021.

San Diego County is now in the Orange Tier for event gathering restriction purposes. Our venue will be outside in a grassy area with shading provided by pop-up tenting, ample seating and tables for our eating pleasure and order. Currently Carlton Oaks has no restrictions on masking or proof of vaccination, for those of you who have received yours, during privately held events.

As a cost saving measure and the fact that we are a more ‘vintage’ bunch, not to mention you can get really sleepy after eating at this age, we are providing an evening of libations (cash bar), heavy and exotic sounding hors d'oeuvres, light desserts, old friends, music, presentations, and prizes (TBD). 'Meet and Greet' - Friday, June 18th! No cover charge, no cost, right on Main Street, 6:30pm start time to get things rolling! JOIN US! Let us know you are coming and we'll save you a seat!???

The possibility of a school tour on that Friday before the ‘meet and greet’ is also in the exploration stages. And if you have not seen the pictures of the revamped campus, “Wow”!...what we knew in haunting the halls of the 'Home of the Braves' has faded into the ages to be replaced by all new buildings along Madison Avenue and things we could only dream of in amenities.

There are also a limited number of rooms at a special rate blocked out, so when you make your reservation make them for the hotel at the course as well. Those of you planning on ‘roughing’ it at Santee Lakes, get your RV reservations in quickly as it fills up rapidly, especially in light of the easing of Covid-19 restrictions in the county.

Ladies, please share your last name as it was when you attended ECVHS (Maiden Name) when you register on the Facebook page to make identification for us all better…keep those annuals handy kids! And make sure to bring those cell-phone cameras or any other so you can capture the faces of those you thought would never change!
