Laser Cutting – Try it! Wednesday, October 16th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. In this introductory workshop, you will learn how to operate the laser cutters at The Hub using a pre-existing vector design. The laser cutters can be used to cut or engrave a variety of materials, including wood, paper, fabric, leather, craft foam, stone, tile, glass, cork, and acrylic. Gain valuable knowledge and apply that knowledge in class as you work through a laser engraved project. Please note that vector design is a prerequisite for this class but will not be taught during the workshop.

In this hands-on class, you will learn:
How to safely operate a laser cutter.
✨What considerations to take when designing a file for a laser cutter.
✨Which materials are safe to use and which are not.
✨How to use Lightburn to program your laser.
✨How to engrave your first project in class.
Prerequisite: Vector Design (or experience using graphics software such as Illustrator)
