About this Event
CLASS FOUR: Preparing for Rest, Support, and Care (Postpartum)
This class is focused on the birthing person. Their transition after the baby is so important for mental health. Preventing perinatal mood disorders is so key, and supporting mental health is vitally important.
This workshop uses the BYN postpartum planning tool to create an individualized plan for rest, support, and care. Discussion of the postpartum transition includes physical changes immediate postpartum, mental health, baby norms, and pelvic floor health. After this class, the client will be able to discuss when to call and will have identified who to call. Crisis reasons to call will be included, with the aim of impacting preventable perinatal death.
This class is ideal for every person. Encouraging each person to sign up in the third trimester of pregnancy will supplement conversations included in prenatal visits. This class centers the expertise that the instructor developed in the doctoral pilot project, and provides actionable tools.
