Spring Breakout was an absolutely wild night of violence, debuts and shocking moments! To start off with in the main event and much to everyone’s surprise, both teams showed no dissension whatsoever despite the NBWA Heavyweight Title being at stake during a fast-paced tag team match pitting Rick Owens and Larry Horowitz against Money Talks. Owens was able to retain his championship after making Killem tap out for the second time in his career… but now comes his next challenge. At Clash 45: The Royal Challenge, Owens will come face-to-face with a brand-new challenger and someone he has never faced before in his entire professional wrestling career, J.P. Simms.
In what was one of the most violent matches in CCW history, the brothers Strong collided in a match with NO disqualifications. This match was a year in the making after Nick’s sudden and vicious attack on Matt just one year prior. They hit each other with hockey sticks, steel chairs, baking pans and… a staple gun!? And after all that, nothing was settled. Both men knocked each other for a loop and neither was able to answer the 10-count. What in the world is going to finally settle things between these two?! Will this ever be resolved?!
The Tag Team Championship contest also ended inconclusively as Ace Dynasty took on Pat Perswayze and “The Ultimate Male” Zane Valentine for a raucous crowd. Eventually, both teams could not hold their disdain for each other any longer and the referee was forced to throw the match out. However, all four men will run it back one more time at Clash 45 in a championship rematch.
Clash 44 also saw big victories by Stormie Hale over the impressive debuting star Ronnie Payne; Salem Wilder was also able to defeat the returning Katrina Creed. With both women on a huge roll and with the Women’s Title in their sights, what could be next in line at Clash 45?!
“Horsepower” Hunter Sampson managed to shut up his challenger Olafur Hansen after the disqualification finish during Clash 43 and definitively retain his River Valley Championship. However, his next challenge will be another daunting one: the Alberta Clipper Chevron has been on a huge wave of singles victories and he will finally get his title shot at Clash 45. Can the Wild Rose make good on this big opportunity or does Sampson have an answer to the challenge? And what about Scotley Crue? Surely, he will be a factor?
We also saw the debut of Kayden’s rap video at Clash 44. Of course, Kayden has been out of action for some time with an injury but he was more than happy to return to present this “musical masterpiece” to the CCW fans. Unfortunately for the lyrically-inclined star, it was not a night for celebration when Zatara made an appearance and defeated him in his first match since the injury.
