About this Event

is excited to bring ‘ - A SurThrivers Spoken Word event to the historical campus! Hosted by Brawley Hall & R.A. Precious James, c/o 2026, to encourage all to use their voice! Join us at the from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to use your voice and support others on campus who have been affected by Power-based Personal Violence. event provides a safe, non-judgmental platform for survivors of power-based personal violence to share their truths, celebrate survival, and encourage others through spoken word. No pressure, you don't have to be a pro. It's your truth, so you can commit your piece to memory or read your words from the page/phone.

We are bringing awareness & amplifying the need for prevention of power-based personal violence in our communities. Because your mental health matters, we're here to support you. Whether it's domestic or sexual abuse, gun violence, gender violence, or bullying, this is a safe space for all. Violence is blind to gender; EVERYONE is welcome to share, heal, and move into a healthy life after abuse. Grab your pens and prepare your poem of truth. We will have licensed clinicians available for those who want extra support or resources.

If you'd like to share your story through poetry, contact Khrys @ 513.400.5896 to reserve your spot. (Limited slots available for survivors to share.) Please choose the FREE 'I want to share' ticket. These tickets are for survivors who plan to share their poem.

Can't be there in person? Feel free to send us a video of you sharing your poem; we will be honored to include your voice. (choose the 'will submit' option)

Also included: Giveaways, Live Music, Lite Nibbles, Bags of Swag, Vendors, and more!

If you'd like to support our mission but are unable to attend? We appreciate your willingness to help us continue our mission. You can choose the DONATION option in the ticketing area.

Of course, the K.A.S.S.I.E. COUCH will be there for you to add your signatures as a commitment to moving into a healthy life after abuse.
