What the Programme Will Include
The Summer Construction Programme is designed to support young people aged 16–30 to build confidence, develop key construction skills, and explore pathways into employment, training, apprenticeships, and work experience.
Information Session – Tuesday 28 July
An introduction to the programme, including what to expect, attendance requirements, and the next steps.
Week 1 – Tuesday 4 August
A preparation day focused on building confidence, resilience and wellbeing, while exploring personal strengths, overcoming challenges, developing CVs, identifying transferable skills, and improving money management.
Week 2 – Tuesday 11 & Wednesday 12 August
CSCS training and assessment to support participants in gaining their CSCS card.
Week 3 – Tuesday 18 & Wednesday 19 August
Interview skills, apprenticeship information, career pathway guidance, and Emergency First Aid at Work training.
Week 4 – Monday 24 to Friday 28 August
Work placement opportunities, employer engagement activities, or contractor-led experiences, subject to availability.
Final Week – Tuesday 1 & Wednesday 2 September
Employer talks, opportunity matching, next-step planning, and a final reflection session to help participants progress into work, training, or further opportunities.
Please note: Spaces are limited, and participants are expected to attend all relevant sessions throughout the programme.
