St. Clare of Assisi knew when she heard Francis preach that she wanted to be part of his new program to make the Gospel a real “word of life for all Christian people.” She joined his project and groups of dedicated women joined them—finally becoming the Order we call the “Poor Clares.” Many people know littel besides her name. The fact is that in his lifetime she was an invaluable partner for Francis and the brothers. After his death she was a “north star”, helping all stay true to the original vision—following Jesus in joy and courage.
Doors open at 7PM in Hyacinth Epp Hall. There will be a Mass commemorating the Feast of St. Clare at 6:30PM in Hyacinth Epp Hall. Parking available in the parish parking lot.
