Friday evening at dusk, join the CBNA contingent on the main field to experience the wonder of the Calling of the Clans torchlight ceremony. On Saturday, join CBNA Commissioner Joseph L. Bell and Tent Warrior Kathy Bell at the Opening Ceremonies or Sunday you can march with them in the Parade of Tartans. During your visit, experience the beauty and grace that is Scottish Highland Dance; marvel at the strength and agility of the Scottish heavy athletics; thrill to the sound of pipes & drums as the massed bands fill the air with the distinctive skirl that instantly transports you back in time. Enjoy the best in international Celtic entertainers, with a mix of both modern and traditional music by local and national performers. Watch the enthralling sword demonstration and see the sheep dogs as they show their unique abilities.
Kids 15 and under get in free to the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival & Games. Choose from a fun assortment of games and amusements to keep the wee ones entertained. Kids Passports, coloring sheets and craft activities will be available at the Kids/Clan Challenge Tent as well. If your own inner child is calling, there are several parent-child activities from which to choose.
The Clan Challenge on Saturday includes Kilted Mile Run, the Kids Caber Toss, the Kids Haggis Hurl, the Kids Stone Throw, the Adult Battle Axe Throw, the Kids Tug-o-war competition, the Best Clan Tent, and the Bonniest Knees contest.
The Clan Challenge on Sunday features Ladies Haggis Hurl, the Kids Battle Axe Throw, the Kids 50-Yard Dash, and the Clan Triathlon Relay.
