While many locals know it as the "Captain's House" the Rockhill-Bartlett-Rockhill home on the Tuckerton Seaport campus was inhabited by many interesting people of the 19th and 20th centuries. The bearer of the home's name, J. Henry Bartlett, was instrumental in creating and constructing the modern-day system of a well-rounded education system.
But before the Bartlett's took control of the home, there were many interesting individuals that passed through its doors: sea captains, shippers, oystermen, and an oyster watchman.
It was in the day time heat of the summer solstice in 1901, that a young local clammer would meet his fate at the hands of one of the residents of the Captain's House. It was a crime so shocking that it has the whole town and its inhabitants talking.
Join us for a night of mystery, history, and murder, and we re-tell the true crime story of one of Clamtown's most infamous murders! Included in the general admission pricing is:
- A true crime Ferry Ride on the Tuckerton Creek
- 1/2 Dozen Local Clams & 1/ 2 Dozen Local Oysters

- A guided talk on the history of the Captain's House and its inhabitants!
