Claire Huangzi Piano Recital
About this Event
“She has the fastest fingers in the world, but she doesn't use them to show off. She uses them to reach the truth.”
— THE GUARDIAN
The young American pianist Claire Huangci, winner of the 2018 Geza Anda Competition, continuously captivates audiences with her "radiant virtuosity, artistic sensitivity, keen interactive sense and subtle auditory dramaturgy" (Salzburger Nachrichten). With an irrepressible curiosity and penchant for unusual repertoire, she proves her versatility with a wide range of projects.
In solo recitals and as a partner of international orchestras such as the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich, Radio-Sinfonieorchester Vienna, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, and the China Philharmonic Orchestra, Claire Huangci has established herself as a highly sought-after artist. She has performed in concert halls such as Carnegie Hall New York, Suntory Hall Tokyo, NCPA Beijing, Philharmonie de Paris, Munich Gasteig, Leipzig Gewandhaus, and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
Claire began her international career at the age of nine with concert performances and competition successes. She studied at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia with Eleanor Sokoloff and Gary Graffman before moving to Germany in 2007 for further studies with Arie Vardi at the majestic Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover.
Her discography is a testament to her artistic range, featuring recordings of Scarlatti sonatas which received the German Record Critics' Award, as well as the complete Chopin Nocturnes and Rachmaninov Preludes. Her latest albums often explore the intersection of classical tradition and modern interpretation, always seeking the fresh perspective that has become her hallmark. More...
