Copenhagen Jazz Funk Collective is an orchestra with some of the most experienced jazz and funk/pop musicians in Denmark.
The inspiration to the music comes from bands and artists like Weather Report, Spyro Gyra, Yellow Jackets, Mezzoforte, Marcus Miller, David Sandborn and Steps Ahead.
The music is groovy, most of the themes are simple and the real strength is found in the interaction between the musicians, the improvisation and the creativity.

The band started playing together in spring 2020 during Corona-lockdown. Corona-Ride was recorded ind the summer 2020 and the different layers of time meters reflect the difficult life during corona. The music is written by the bassist Mads Pagsberg

Copenhagen Jazz Funk Collective
Copenhagen Jazz Funk Collective er et band og orkester med nogle særdeles erfarne jazz- og funk/pop musikere fra den danske scene. Orkestret samler inspiration til musikken fra bands og kunstnere som Weather Report, Spyro Gyra, Yellow Jackets, Mezzoforte, Marcus Miller, David Sandborn og Steps Ahead. Bandet opstod i foråret 2020 under Corona-lockdown, hvilket i sommeren samme år bl.a. resulterede i singlen ’Corona Ride’ komponeret af bassisten Mads Pagsberg. Singlen afspejler det svære liv under Corona-pandemien.

Jesper Nordal på guitar – har spillet med bl.a. Brian Blade,
Fredrik Lundin, Juan Ospina, Sofia Ribeiro, Marcelo Woloski, Scott Colley,
Anders Rose på keyboard – har spillet med bl.a. Johnny Logan og Marc Bernstein.
Mikkel Villingshøj på trommer – har spillet med bl.a. Suspekt og Klamfyr.
Mads Pagsberg på bas – har spillet med bl.a. Bobo Moreno, Jonas Johansen, Tupac Mantilla, Jim McNeely og Maria Schneider.
