Join us to learn about the ways we keep the historical collections safe from environmental factors, including the use of UV filters. We’ll also explore the impact of collections care on the environment. The Ruth Mott Foundation’s historical collections at Applewood include a variety of objects and documents thanks to the Mott family, who documented their life through diaries, photographs, and videos. The collections give us insight into the history of C.S. Mott, the estate, the city of Flint, the family philanthropies, and General Motors. The enduring legacy of Charles Stewart and Ruth Mott is their extraordinary commitment to civic participation. From preserving our history to volunteering in community, we’ll demonstrate ways that anyone can engage in civic life. This year’s topics are focused on historic preservation and getting involved in the community where you live.
Drop in to Civic Matters anytime from 1–4 p.m. on the first and third Fridays of the month through October. Admission and activities at Applewood are always free!
