Civic Conversation with Dr. Hasan Zia: President and COO of Sibley Memorial

, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S., leads strategic planning, clinical program performance, patient safety and quality improvement, and finance for . He also oversees operations for the hospital, the Sibley Ambulatory Surgery Center and the Renaissance Skilled Nursing Facility. In collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Health System and School of Medicine leadership teams, Dr. Zia is engaged in the expansion of clinical services at Sibley Memorial Hospital, including the addition of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Proton Therapy Center, as well as numerous complex, sub-specialty programs through the Kimmel Cancer Center at Sibley and other School of Medicine departments.

Dr. Zia leads Sibley's efforts to improve access to high quality, inclusive and equitable health care for residents across the District of Columbia through the Maternal Health Access program and work with Unity Health Care, the largest network of community health centers in Washington, D.C. With a focus on enhancing health and well-being for residents in D.C.'s Wards 7 and 8, Dr. Zia also champions Sibley's Ward Infinity, a program that works in collaboration with residents to accelerate the development of their innovative health solutions.
