We're excited to share our dream of organizing a yearly fair for civic actors. Just like there are fairs for weddings, cheese, and even food packaging, we believe the non-profit sector in Sweden deserves a place to connect, celebrate, and share what we do. We envision a lively space where we can exchange ideas, discover new opportunities, and tackle the challenges we face together. It’s also a great way for citizens to find the perfect organization to get involved with. This year, we're planting the seed with the Civic Action Tales Fair - the CAT Fair. Let's make this vision a reality together! While planning for this event, we were constantly asked to define a target audience. We think the groups and organizations that would benefit from this the most would be small and independent civic organizations and the people in them. So this is for the innovative and smaller groups working towards

On September 14th, join us for an engaging evening of mingling, a market showcasing various civic society organizations, and workshops on civic action, all accompanied by music and art. We will also screen six short documentaries highlighting civic actors in Sweden and Austria, illustrating the diverse paths individuals can take towards participation and active citizenship.

⭐Market:
We want to give up to 20 organizations and projects the chance to present themselves with a market stand. Do you have a project or organization that you would like to represent? Book your spot here: https://tickets.blivande.com/fkf/Catfair2024/
Registration is donation-based; you can write any amount you or your organization can spare. We understand that organizations in the civic sector sometimes do not have the possibility to contribute, and we want to make participation possible for everyone.
After booking your spot, we will get in touch with you via email to get some information about your organization that we can promote within the scope of this festival.
If you change your mind or availability, let us know, so we can give the spot to someone else. :)
⭐Screening of Documentaries:
CAT Fair will also be the opportunity for us to share with the public the second part of this project, a film project, where we featured 3 Austrian and 3 Swedish civic actors and their journey into civic action to inspire youths and the public. The screenings will take place in a container and run over the whole evening, so you can drop in and check out the movies on your own schedule.
⭐Networking Session (Sign-up):
Opportunities in connecting the right organizations can increase a city's and society’s resilience. We believe that we need to create networks of trust BEFORE crisis hits the fan. We hope that through a tighter net of civic organizations, we can start collaborating and work in synergy, sharing resources and promoting each other's causes. This networking session will occur in an organizational speed dating style and will be exclusively for civic actors, just before the public event starts. The Bloom and Stockholm Nonprofit Network will prepare a workshop to facilitate the space.

⭐Workshops:
In the afternoon, we will invite you to 3 - 4 different workshops aimed at supporting civic actors. Topics are to be determined. Current suggestions:
Money, motivation, and other obstacles for civic actors
Finding belonging through civic action
A workshop on imagination and placemaking for the younger citizens
Workshop with LEGO SERIOUS PLAY methodology
Workshop Sign-ups coming soon
⭐Public Gallery:
We want to involve artists and the public in general with a collaborative artistic exhibition by the container square, inviting citizens to bring their art that represents their interpretation of a hopeful future. The idea is to hang the art pieces all over the container square, so the entire space turns into an art gallery. As a backup, if the weather is not with us, we will have a small exhibition in the protected containers and have the larger-scale exhibition on a different day later in autumn inside the house.
Open Call Form: Coming soon
⭐Art, Music & Stage Program:
During the afternoon and evening, we will invite music, poets, and other art forms to enrich the Fair with beauty and “soul.” After all, this is a celebration of the work that we all do. The plan is to also have an open stage where poems about hope can be read out loud. This will be an open call for the stage program. We are also considering having an open mic, where different organizations can talk about themselves, their goals, dreams, and where they would need support.
If you are interested in co-creating to any degree, get in contact with diana[at]blivande.com.
