CityXcape Explorer Series #1: Father Hennepin
About this Event
Join CityXcape founder James Allan for the inaugural Explorer Series as we travel back to the origins of Minneapolis and uncover the story of Father Louis Hennepin—the first European to document St. Anthony Falls.
During this presentation, we'll explore:
• Who Father Hennepin was and why he came to the region
• The Dakota world he encountered in the late 1600s
• The discovery and naming of St. Anthony Falls
• How a remote frontier became the future city of Minneapolis
• The myths, controversies, and lasting legacy of Hennepin's journey
Following the presentation, attendees will travel to a real-world location connected to Father Hennepin's story for a group check-in on CityXcape. This will be an opportunity to experience history where it happened, earn a commemorative stamp, and connect with fellow explorers as we continue the adventure beyond the presentation.

Every attendee will receive the Father Hennepin commemorative stamp in CityXcape and participate in the group's first official Explorer Series expedition.
