The Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods
The Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods (OSHN) is Louisville Metro Government’s dedicated office for gun violence prevention. Since the office’s inception in 2013, it has been tasked with addressing gun violence through a myriad of interventions based in the public health approach to violence including community violence interventions, civic engagement, mental health supports, targeted case management, youth engagement, and more.
Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness
Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness (LMPHW) is a nationally accredited, independent, academic health department committed to achieving health equity and improving the health and well-being of all Louisville residents and visitors.
The Summit
Community engagement is integral toward effectively reducing gun violence. At the original gun violence summit in 2023, we made great strides in mapping out the landscape of violence prevention providers across Louisville. Now that we have taken inventory of the work that's happening, it's time to move forward together in developing the processes necessary for continuous communication, information sharing, and recommended best practices that make individual and group action possible.
Attendees of Citywide Summit: Mobilizing Louisville's Gun Violence Reduction Ecosystem can expect opportunities to connect with other's doing similar work, learn from national experts, and collectively grow our capacity to prevent and respond to violence.
A continental breakfast will be available between 8am-9am. A boxed lunch will be served in the afternoon. Check-in will be available promptly at 8am.
