About this Event
We invite you to join “City of Dreams” director Mohit Ramchandani and Andrew Rogers, Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor (DOL), for a screening of this powerful film, an inspiring true story about a boy’s courageous battle to free himself and others from the brutality of a modern sweatshop.
The department’s Wage and Hour Division has a long history of protecting the rights of people like Jesús, the film’s hero: it plays a vital role in the prevention of human trafficking, along with enforcing critical federal labor protections.
Please join us for a compliance assistance discussion following the screening and learn how the Wage and Hour Division provided behind-the-scenes expertise to the filmmakers, drawing on their vast experience in sweatshops, detecting human trafficking, and combating child labor. The discussion will also focus on the agency’s ongoing compliance efforts to protect victims of modern-day slavery.
This is an event you won’t want to miss. For more information, email [email protected].
