Learn how to easily transform a soggy spot in your yard into a beautiful, pollution-fighting sanctuary. Our step-by-step instruction will show you how to design and plant a shallow, bowl shaped garden using native wildflowers that naturally absorb & filter rainwater. You will help protect our environment while creating a vibrant habitat for birds and butterflies.
If you are a City of Bridgman resident, you may qualify for a free rain garden kit.
The City of Bridgman, is seeking to implement a pilot residential rain garden program that will reduce stormwater runoff, alleviate localized flooding, and protect water quality in Tanner Creek and Lake Michigan. The project will provide community-wide education and technical and financial assistance for up to 50 City of Bridgman property owners to install rain gardens, creating a scalable model for neighborhood-based green infrastructure and watershed stewardship.
Everyone is welcome to attend the program. Free kits and technical/financial assistance is only for qualified City of Bridgman Residents.
No registration required. Two dates are offered for the same program - January 30, 2027 & February 20, 2027.
