On 31 July 2026, at 1:30 PM, a Criminal Court proceeding against Jarrod Lewis Fusco of Biloxi Politics Uncensored will take place at the Municipal Courthouse inside the Lopez-Quave Safety Center, located at 170 Porter Avenue in Biloxi. Supporters of free speech, government transparency, open criticism of public officials, and a free press are encouraged to attend and observe the proceedings firsthand.
More than 60 years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court recognized in New York Times Co. v. Sullivan a “profound national commitment to the principle that debate on public issues should be uninhibited, robust, and wide-open,” even when that speech includes “vehement, caustic, and sometimes unpleasantly sharp attacks on government and public officials.” This principle, this solemn national commitment, has carried this Republic through hardship, disagreement, sacrifice, and renewal, and brought our country to its 250th Anniversary this year. As Charlie Kirk once said, “When people stop talking, that’s when violence happens,” and with that, the absence of free speech achieves only one end: the downfall of a Nation.
Citizens, we must unite peacefully and lawfully in defense of the freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and Article 3, Section 13 of the Mississippi Constitution. These protections belong to the people, not to any one person, organization, political viewpoint, or especially the government itself. The answer has never been silence, and it never will be. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “A time comes when silence is betrayal,” and despite speech being the “vocation of agony...we must speak."
Citizens, we must stand together, remain engaged, and insist that Constitutional Rights remain protected for everyone, so that we may survive as a country for another 250 years.
