Join Ijams naturalists and community scientists for a series of FREE workshops spanning fungi, birding, flowers, and more!Ijams Nature Center is proud to partner with Zoo Knoxville, Discover Life in America, Sierra Club, Seven Islands, and the City of Knoxville to coordinate a BioBlitz for the City Nature Challenge 2025. During the City Nature Challenge, cities all over the world will collaborate to observe as much wildlife as possible. Help us record observations of wild plants, animals, fungi, and more to see how much nature we can find across the planet while learning who lives nearby!
Every participant is asked to download and use the free iNaturalist app during this event. While the workshops are free, the whole weekend is first and foremost a huge community effort to record all life that we can find! After learning from experts, participants will be asked to search specific areas for whatever organisms relate to their workshop subject. Please come prepared with iNaturalist already installed and ready to use.
