Now more than ever, amateur astronomers can support research programs with their own observations. From improving orbits of asteroids passing close to Earth, to monitoring exoplanets & variable stars, to tracking supernovae in distant galaxies, amateurs "fill the gaps" from their backyards, even without telescopes!
Join Dr. Bob Donahue, Mt. Wilson Observatory astronomer & member of the Northern Berkshire Astronomical Society, for a free talk where you’ll learn how the contributions of amateur astronomers help answer fundamental questions in astronomy (and some really cool discoveries).
3rd floor community room. All are welcome! No registration is required.
Any questions, please email Adult Services Librarian Ryan Miller
at [email protected], or give us a call.
