Citizen Peace Journalism Workshop

Anyone can become a journalist at anytime - this includes every day citizens with no formal journalism training.
About this Event

Bisan Owda. Omar Mohammed. Darnella Frazier. These are all citizen journalists who shared their life experiences and brought the reality of injustice to us all on a global scale.Sometimes, it's not the known media sources (like NYT, CBS, or FOX) that share the stories about the issues close to your home—it's people like you doing their own research and sharing your observations without support from a major publication or large organization.

Join Northland Neighbors United, a mutual aid group based in the KC Northland, in talking about what Citizen Peace Journalism is, the importance of keeping it alive, and the ethics & responsibilities behind doing it. We'll be showing some of our own examples including the zines our members made to bring awareness to the humanitarian crisis happening around the KC Metro area!
