DETAILS FOR DANCE CONTEST:

Feb 7th 2025: we will nominate the winner who will represent CBK Salsa Friday at the Chicago Salsa Congress on Feb 13th 2025!!!

Amateur dancers only, no professionals.

On Thursday, February 13th 2025, CISC Opening Night, there will be one final elimination round before the finals at for contestants in attendance to have an opportunity to join in the competition.

Contest Rules for the Chicago International Salsa Congress:

No professionals,
no lifts or tricks,
no choreography.

Judges will score on:

Proficiency in lead/follow ability/fluidity,
Rhythm competency/mastery in 3 rhythms (salsa/mambo, Cha-cha-cha and bachata),
Degree of partner interaction/ enjoyment

Prizes. (Cash and trophies)

1st prize $550/couple

2nd prize $350/couple

3rd prize $250/couple

On Thursday, February 13th, CISC Opening Night, there will be one final elimination round before the final for contestants in attendance to have an opportunity to join in the competition.

Three winners from the CISC elimination round will join club first place couples in the final round to be named the 2025 CISC Best Social Dancers! The finals will select the top 3 couples from a minimum of 7 couples for the title and cash prizes.
