Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting a free vascular screening on Tuesday, June 20th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at 1320 Martin Luther King Drive in Thibodaux.Guests will receive a complimentary ankle brachial index (ABI) screenings & thermal imaging screenings. An ABI simple, painless exam is used to test the blood flow in the legs to determine risk of vascular disease. A thermal imaging scan uses new technology that can detect venous insufficiency. Results will be reviewed on site by CIS providers.
Risk factors of vascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive.
