ABOUT CIRCLESONGS
Ciclesongs is a spontaneous vocal jam, an immersion in sound, creativity, and community through group singing, involving improvisation and collaboration. Developed by American vocalist Bobby McFerrin, this technique challenges participants to sing, invent, and explore. Circlesongs create spontaneous vocal compositions in a circle, each contributing unique vocalizations, rhythms, melodies, harmonies, and invented languages. This process involves call and response, silence, prayers, and laughter. In the circle, we make music, build trust, take risks, and embrace life to the fullest. Every song and every voice has a place in the circle, fostering a sense of unity and creative expression.
ABOUT VIVIENNE AERTS
I am a Dutch New York-based vocalist, composer, producer and conductor with a focus on electronics, chocolate, and multi-sensory experience design as well as a clinical psychologist and faculty at Berklee College of Music in Boston where I have been instrumental in building a new generation of performers who are not only skilled musicians but also mentally and physically healthy individuals. I studied Choir directing at the Inholland Conservatory and studied vocal improvisation at Bobby Mcferrin’s Circlesong School.
With a background in both clinical psychology and music, I take a holistic approach to coaching. I believe each musician is unique, and tailor my sessions to the individual, helping you tap into your full potential and broaden your spectrum of sounds, styles, and abilities.
As a musician my collaborators since have included some of the most iconic names in the world of jazz. My edible ‘experience’ events were the root of my multi-disciplinary approach to the making of my new album, ‘Typuhthâng’, which features 100 female musicians from around the globe, and also comes with a bar of bean-to-bar chocolate from Original Beans Chocolate, a company that pro-actively empowers female cacao farmers of Virunga State Park in Congo.
