Circle Time In The Park

Gather 'round with Trinity as we spend time together exploring different languages, developing social skills through show and tell, and assisting her as we read today's story. Then, let's get up, warm up, and let loose with Rajio Tasio, groove in Zumba, learn more about animals and their sounds in yoga, and conclude with a peaceful introduction to breathing meditation.

About Circle Time

Circle time (more common in the US and UK) refers to young children between the ages of 3 to 7 sitting together forming a circle to take part in activities that increases their awareness of languages, physical and sensory experiences, develop social and emotional literacy, learning supportive listening, helps promote gross motor skills as it improves coordination and rhythm, builds a sense of community, and encourage positive relationships between the participants from different backgrounds and cultures which gives them the foundational tools to engage with each other in later years as they prepare for school and beyond.

About Trinity House

Trinity House is a Hillsborough County Valedictorian who completed her industry certification in Early Childhood Education and a High Honors Associate Degree in Education. In 2021, she co-founded Excel. By, BnHuMn with her sister and mother. Their mission is to create access to quality education for all as well as advocate for lifelong learning. At the age of 17, she is currently in her junior year at the University of West Florida pursuing her Bachelor's degree majoring in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Community Education Specialization and a minor in Health Promotion.

About Location

Toll Family Playground is one of two playgrounds located in the West 80s, near the entrance at West 85th Street and within the site of Seneca Village. The playground’s most prominent features are two small playhouses, inspired by similar structures that were popular in the Park’s playgrounds during the 1930s. The playground is also located at the base of Summit Rock, the highest natural point in the Park and a popular destination for picnics, games, and exploring.

TIP: If parents are using this time as a filler before lunch and nap time in their child's weekly schedule, we suggest that you arrive before 10:45 for open play in Toll Family Playground.

NOTE: Parents with infants and toddlers are highly encouraged to participate. For safety reasons, we ask that the inner circle be used by preschoolers and older children.
