Circle the Wagons: Free Closet & Women & Children's Clothing Swap
About this Event
🌸 Circle the Wagons 🌸
A Women's Peer Group: Connect • Support • Thrive
A village of women supporting women.
Welcome to Circle the Wagons, a free women's peer group dedicated to mental health, personal growth, emotional well-being, and building meaningful connections with other women who understand that life can be a lot easier when we don't have to navigate it alone.
The goal of Circle the Wagons is simple: to create a village of like-minded women who can learn from one another, share experiences, offer encouragement, build confidence, and create a supportive community where every woman feels welcome.
This group is built by women with lived experience who understand the importance of having people in your corner. We believe that sometimes the best support comes from someone who has been there, someone who listens without judgment, someone who can offer a helpful suggestion, or someone who simply reminds you that you are not alone.
Circle the Wagons is not therapy, counseling, or a professionally run mental health program. It is a peer-support community created by women who want to grow together, learn together, and build a stronger village.
This is not a religious group. Women from all backgrounds and walks of life are welcome!
🌷 WHAT TO EXPECT
Circle the Wagons will offer a combination of in-person learning sessions, virtual peer-support gatherings, community-building activities, and special events throughout the holiday season.
Our in-person learning sessions will cover practical topics that can help women strengthen their lives, recognize their abilities, and better understand their needs. Topics will include:
• Finding your strengths and recognizing what you bring to the table.
• Learning how to create a budget and manage money.
• Identifying your preferred methods of receiving support.
• Building connections with other women who share similar goals.
• Learning practical skills and sharing real-life tips, experiences, and encouragement.
We will also host community-building sessions where women can gather simply to unwind, relax, and spend time with like-minded women. Not every gathering needs to be about solving a problem. Sometimes, we just need a safe, welcoming place to laugh, talk, recharge, and enjoy the company of others.
We will have virtual opportunities to connect, too, so members can participate even when they cannot attend every activity in person.
🌸 OUR PROGRAM AND MEMBERSHIP
Circle the Wagons is a completely free program. There will be 10 women accepted into the program, allowing us to build a smaller, more connected community where members have opportunities to get to know one another.
Although the overall program is free, in-person events will have limited seating. Registration for in-person events will be handled through Eventbrite, and advance registration is encouraged.
To remain an active member of the program, participants must:
• Attend at least one in-person event each month.
• Complete weekly check-ins with the facilitator.
Weekly check-ins can be completed by phone call, text message, email, or voice note. The purpose of these check-ins is to encourage continued participation, maintain connections, and help members stay engaged with the group.
This program is intended to be a community effort. We all have something to offer, and we all have something to learn.
🌷 OUR SCHEDULE FOR THE REST OF 2026
🍂 November 8 — Meet and Greet
Columbus Main Library, Meeting Room 1C
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
This will be our first gathering! We will have an opportunity to briefly mingle, meet one another, and begin building the foundation of our Circle the Wagons community.
Participants will receive their course materials, and we will jump right into the beginning of the workbook together.
If you cannot attend in person, you will be emailed your materials and invited to join the session through Zoom. We want everyone to have an opportunity to participate, even when attending in person isn't possible.
Come ready to meet some new faces, start building connections, and take the first step toward creating your village!
💗 November 11 and November 27 — This Is Not Therapy
Zoom | 8:00 PM
These virtual gatherings will give members an opportunity to talk privately with the group about things happening in their lives.
Sometimes we need to talk things out. Sometimes we need encouragement, a fresh perspective, or a reminder that other women have experienced similar struggles. These sessions are an opportunity to share, listen, and offer support in a peer-group setting.
This is not a replacement for professional therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment. Circle the Wagons is a peer-support community, not a clinical service.
💰 November 22 — $ Matters Meeting
Let's talk money!
During this session, we will continue working through our course materials and focus on creating a budget that can carry us through the holiday season.
We will share money-saving tips, tricks for finding the best prices, and practical ways to make the most of what we have. We will also explore financial literacy in a relatable, down-to-earth way.
Who are some of the best financial planners known to mankind? Moms!
We will draw on real-life experiences, shared knowledge, and the creative ways women make a dollar stretch. The goal is to leave feeling more prepared, more confident, and better equipped to manage holiday expenses.
👚 December 5 — Free Closet and Clothing Swap
Columbus Main Library, Meeting Room 1A
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Let's refresh our wardrobes and help our community at the same time!
This event will provide free clothing to underserved women and children. It will also give attendees an opportunity to trade clothing with other women, find something new to love, and spruce up their wardrobes without spending money.
Please bring your own bags!
This event is open to the public, so you do not need to be a Circle the Wagons member to participate. Bring your friends, spread the word, and help us make this a fun, community-centered event!
🎄 December 12 — A Little Christmas Magic
Columbus Main Library
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Sponsored by Jazmin "Love" Fields
We are bringing a little Christmas magic to the community with a fun, family-friendly lunch event!
Join us for Christmas movies, music, food, and a Christmas craft. There might even be a special visit from Black Santa!
This gathering is all about creating happy memories, sharing some holiday joy, and enjoying time together with family and friends.
Seating is limited. Please contact the event host ahead of time to share any food allergies so we can plan accordingly.
We want everyone to feel welcome and have the opportunity to enjoy a little holiday magic!
✨ December 13 — Holiday Slow Down Brunch
World Peaces Fair Trade
Time to be announced
The holidays can be beautiful, but they can also be exhausting. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, family responsibilities, shopping, cooking, and trying to make the season magical for everyone else, it is easy to forget to make time for ourselves.
The Holiday Slow Down Brunch is our opportunity to change that, even if only for a little while.
Five of our most active members will enjoy a catered brunch provided by Love's Kitchen at World Peaces Fair Trade, a beautiful store filled with art and unique pieces from around the world.
The goal is to create a peaceful moment between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day when the women who spend so much time making holiday magic for others can slow down, relax, and enjoy a moment just for themselves.
This is our gift to you! You deserve time to recharge, enjoy good food, appreciate beautiful surroundings, and celebrate the connections you have built.
