Graduation Ceremonies are an opportunity to celebrate your achievement of gaining an internationally recognised accreditation.
About this Event

The CIOB Graduation Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of newly accredited TechCIOB, Chartered Members, and Fellows, will be held in Parliament Buildings, Stormont Estate Belfast.

Attending this graduation event provides an opportunity to celebrate your remarkable achievement in obtaining this internationally recognised accreditation. Chartered Membership distinguishes you as a genuine professional in your field, enhancing your career prospects, aiding in contract acquisition, elevating your organisation’s professionalism, and contributing to global standards in construction management.

Enjoy a lightlunch after the ceremony and network with your fellow graduates, CIOB officials and CIOB Staff. A professional photographer will be present to take a formal photograph of the Graduates and an official CIOB Group Graduation Photograph taken on the grand staircase in the Great Hall.


Dress Code

Business dress i.e. suits, trousers, jackets, shirts, skirts and dresses, while not formal, are appropriate for a business environment.


Gown Hire

All CIOB Members and Fellows receiving recognition are required to wear a CIOB gown, which can be hired from the robe makers.

All gowns will be delivered to the venue, ready for you to pick up on the day .

Agenda for the day

10:30 - Arrival and Registration

  • Registration at the entrance of the Long Gallery, collection of gowns
  • All new members have their group photo taken on the main Staircase
  • Refreshments served in the Long Gallery

11:30 - Seating

  • Guests are invited to take their seats

12:00 - Presentation Ceremony

  • Order by Duane McCreadie FCIOB Northern Ireland Hub Vice Chair
  • Opening Remarks by Yvonne Conway FCIOB, CIOB Northern Ireland Hub Chair
  • Welcome by Patsy McGlone MLA
  • Address by Dr Victoria Hills, Chief Executive of the CIOB

12:20 - Presentation of Certificates

  • Presentation of certificates and closing address by Jonathan Payne FCIOB, CIOB Trustee

13:00 - Light refreshments

  • Light lunch in the Long Gallery
  • Fellows and Members family photographs taken by the professional photographer in the Great Hall if desired.

14:00 - Graduation Ceremony ends

Please note; Professional Graduate Presentation Photographs will be sent both electronically by email and by post. Graduate addresses will be supplied to the professional photographer Michael Shepard unless Graduates opt out by contacting the main organiser Julie Fitzsimmons e:[email protected].

Venue

Parliament Buildings, often referred to as Stormont because of its location in the Stormont Estate area of Belfast, is the seat of the Northern Ireland Assembly, the devolved legislature for the region. The purpose-built building, designed by Arnold Thornely, and constructed by Stewart & Partners, was opened by Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII), in 1932.
