Jim McBride’s audacious and stylish 1980s version of Godard’s legendary debut feature stars Richard Gere as a carefree petty criminal who impulsively steals a car, inadvertently kills a cop, and goes on the run to Los Angeles where he doggedly woos a French architecture student and tries to avoid getting caught by the police.
