Join us for a special edition of CIN·E·LOGUE at The Plaza as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of "Alma's Rainbow" with director Ayoka Chenzira in attendance. Presented by Audio_Video_Club, CIN·E·LOGUE is a film club dedicated to fostering community around independent, international, and experimental films. This unique event features a post-show discussion moderated by Atlanta-based writer and director Ebony Blanding, whose work explores the complexities of Blackness and female relationships.
"Alma's Rainbow" tells the story of the teenage daughter of a Brooklyn beauty-parlor owner who blossoms under the influence of her recently-returned show-biz aunt. Ayoka Chenzira, an award-winning filmmaker known for her storytelling focusing on Black women, will join us to discuss her work and insights.
At CIN·E·LOGUE, community members have the opportunity to select films to screen and discuss, fostering a shared appreciation for diverse cinema. Typically hosted at Eyedrum (515 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30312) every 4th Thursday, this special edition at The Plaza is sponsored by Videodrome and Pabst Blue Ribbon. This is an event you won't want to miss.
