Celebrate Batman’s 85th anniversary, on September 21st, during “Batman Day 2024” at The Hi-Pointe!
Along with Batman Returns, we are also playing: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and Batman (1989).
The monstrous Penguin (Danny DeVito), who lives in the sewers beneath Gotham, joins up with wicked shock-headed businessman Max Shreck (Christopher Walken) to topple the Batman (Michael Keaton) once and for all. But when Shreck's timid assistant, Selina Kyle (Michelle Pfeiffer), finds out, and Shreck tries to K*ll her, she is transformed into the sexy Catwoman. She teams up with the Penguin and Shreck to destroy Batman, but sparks fly unexpectedly when she confronts the caped crusader.
Tim Burton's followup to his world-shaking BATMAN (1989) doubles down on the auteur's monochromatic aesthetic and preoccupations with outcasts and outsiders to make for one of the most distinctive Hollywood blockbusters in recent memory.
