Cinema Verde Field Recording with Ricky Yanas & Grimaldi Baez

Join us for a field recording workshop with artists with Ricky Yanas and Grimaldi Baez specifically in response to the 1998 mural Cinema Verde by Dennis Haugh and the site of Liberty Lands more broadly. Participants will join for a morning session of communal sonic collection. Participants will take turns recording audio activity in Liberty Lands Park in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia. This real-time recording session will be documented and included in a film being made by Yanas & Baez. All participants must sign an image release to participate. The collected audio material will be used to produce a score for Yanas' and Baez’s upcoming Eco Social Realism film which will premier at Eco-Social Realism: Historic Mural Activations developed with Mural Arts which will be exhibited next fall at TILT Institute and be part of a regional exhibition series Eco-Social Realism.
