Playtime is one of the most ambitious films ever made, with its director Jacques Tati going bankrupt to finance its production to craft his vision of a world becoming lost to technology. Starring Tati himself in his iconic role of Monsieur Hulot, Playtime is as visually stunning as it is critical of the way modernism stunts humanism.
