Cinema at the Civic is a free-admission, family movie series celebrating the Akron Civic Theatre’s roots as a classic movie house, inviting families to enjoy a film together under the Civic’s iconic, star-lit ceiling.
Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance.
Each event includes free popcorn, live organ music before the movie, and rotating, family-friendly activities such as crafts, face painting, or character meet-and-greets.
The Little Mermaid Description: Disney's 2023 live-action The Little Mermaid, directed by Rob Marshall, is a reimagining of the 1989 animated classic, featuring Halle Bailey as Ariel, a spirited young mermaid who trades her voice to the sea witch Ursula (Melissa McCarthy) for legs to explore the human world and pursue Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King). This is the two-year anniversary of the films release.
