Cimafunk is an Afro-Cuban rockstar, redefining Cuban music for the world. His name reflects his heritage as a ‘cimarrón’ - Cubans of African descent who resisted and escaped slavery - symbolizing his mission to unite and celebrate blackness across borders. With his distinctive Afro-Cuban sound, electrifying live performances, and multiple Grammy nominations, Cimafunk is a force in global music.
His debut album Terapia (2018), featuring the groundbreaking single “Me Voy,” and his standout NPR Tiny Desk Concert, ignited a global groove movement. Following the success of his second album El Alimento (2021), Cimafunk continues to explore the intersections of funk, Afro-Cuban, Latin, and electronic music with his latest release, Pa' Tu Cuerpa (2024), his most polished work to date.
