To All Classmates of Cicero High School Golden Eagles Class of 1973
Several of our class of 1973 members get together every year, and last year we started thinking about our reunion plans for this year! So, we started to look at various venues, and collectively we selected The Spinning Wheel Restaurant in North Syracuse. We had not heard of any other planning for our reunion to date, so we took it upon ourselves to pay the required deposit, to secure our meeting place. We knew time was of the essence…
If you are interested in joining our celebration of the 50th anniversary of our graduation, reacquainting with “old” friends, listening to tunes from our era, and simply to have just plain fun and some laughs, please note the following:
The event will be held at The Spinning Wheel Restaurant.
The address is 7384 Thompson Road, North Syracuse, N.Y. 13212
The time and the date of the event is Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 7pm-11pm.
This will be an informal pig roast. You can view the menu if you wish, on The Spinning Wheel website at: www.spinningwheelrestaurant.com. The restaurant menu will include their "upgraded” version of beer and white or red wine. We realize some people may simply choose not to/or cannot indulge in certain parts of our food or beverage, for that we apologize. This option was determined to be the best available, at the time. Perhaps you may want to snack beforehand, if the menu doesn’t appeal to you.
We have also connected with a DJ, who will spin tunes beginning with our elementary years, with the British Invasion, (Beach Boys, Beatles, Four Seasons, etc. throughout high school with Chicago, The Eagles, Three Dog Night, Grass Roots, Elton John, David Bowie, etc), until the Summer of 1973.
The cost of the event is $60.00/person. Your money must be received by our committee no later than June 15, 2023, to guarantee your admittance, as it is necessary for the restaurant. Unless very unusual/extenuating circumstances, money will NOT be collected at the door. We will have a list with everyone’s name, to ensure entrance to the event.
WE WILL BE PROVIDING FOLLOW-UP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE.
The total cost per person, for our event, includes payment for the restaurant, the DJ, as well as for any gratuities. In addition, there will be absolutely NO REFUNDS, so please plan accordingly, as no money will be returned. Instead, any money left over, will be donated to a
CNS High School booster club in need, as determined by our committee.
On a side note, if you wish to meet with friends prior to the event, the event doesn’t begin until 7:00 pm. Also, we have contacted an individual with the CNS school district, to see if we could
have a tour of Cicero, perhaps Saturday morning or afternoon, on July 8th. We will provide a future update should this be possible.
For those of you interested in golf or some other activity that weekend, we encourage you to coordinate with friends well in advance of July 8th. For those of you visiting from out of town, The Spinning Wheel Restaurant is an easy drive, from several hotels on Carrier Circle, 7th North Street, or the Syracuse airport.
Finally, if you are interested in attending, to give us an idea of a head count, please provide your name(s) and # attending, in comments, on this site. Perhaps that will even motivate you to attend!
