Join us at the Dylan Thomas Centre for Chinese music, dance and kung fu as the Confucius Institute Chinese School at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David celebrates its tenth anniversary. Since opening in 2016, the school has brought children, families, teachers, volunteers and the wider community together through Chinese language learning and shared cultural activities.
The morning programme features students and volunteers singing together, alongside kung fu, Chinese dance, recitations and performances on the guqin and guzheng, two traditional Chinese stringed instruments. An anniversary film, speeches and awards will mark the school’s first ten years and thank the people who have supported it. The celebration is hosted in Chinese and English.
The afternoon exhibitions include the school’s anniversary display and entries to our “Chinese Connects Us” creative competition, alongside work from local primary schools. Contributions from our students and from the wider community show the many ways people connect with Chinese language and culture. You can also meet the team and find out about Chinese School and Confucius Institute courses for children and adults.
Everyone is welcome and the whole day is free. Anniversary gift bags will be available on the day while stocks last.

Please book one free ticket per person for the morning celebration, including children, so that we know how many seats to set out. No booking is needed for the afternoon exhibitions.
