Sunday, August 7th. 8pm at the Red Fox. FREE! 5128 N Albina Ave, Screening outdoors. May start a bit late for sundown.
A collection of rare films detailing lone figures lost in a labyrinth of their dreams, memories and waking nightmares! In Frieda Liappa's haunted New Greek Cinema short APETAXEMIN, a young girl struggles to separate visions and reality while alone in her home. Atilla Janisch's nightmarish adapation of Shirley Jackson's "The Bus," A LONG TWILIGHT, shows an elderly professor caught in a never-ending and cycling nightmare after she boards a bus in the country. Other shorts include 1967's THE IMAGE, featuring a young David Bowie tormenting a painter transfixed by his image, and A ROSE FOR EMILY, a grim adaptation of Faulkner's grimmest Southern Gothic with Angelica Huston. Spooky visions of people alone, trapped in their own heads... the kind of oddities that will stick in your minds for years!
