Our programme explores musical and cognitive dissonance through the startling chromaticism of Lassus’ Prophetiae Sibyllarum, the volatile intensity of Gesualdo’s madrigals, and the searching sacred works of Byrd and Tomkins. Alongside them, contemporary voices Joanna Marsh and Ninfea Cruttwell-Reade extend this restless lineage, using shifting harmonies and luminous clashes to probe doubt, paradox, and the mystery of the divine. Expect music that unsettles as much as it enchants — where “wrong” notes tell deeper truths, and tension becomes revelation.
Though the harmonies may occasionally set your teeth on edge, we're certain the refreshments won't! Cakes and sparkling wine will be available, adding a delicious touch to a memorable experience. These can be purchased in advance with your ticket, or on the door.
