Christopher Bauder - Intersections of Light, Art, and Design. (conference)

Light contains within itself a wide range of contrasts that can be explored through art. It can be natural as well as artificial, physical as well as ephemeral, and can be either designed or used in its pure form. Light is a source of energy while at the same time requiring energy. In artistic practice, it functions both as a subject of art and as an object of artistic exploration.
Since studying Visual Communication and Experimental Media Design at the Berlin University of the Arts, Christopher Bauder has worked as an artist around the world, focusing on the transfer of bits and bytes into real space and vice versa. Light, object, space and sound are the central elements of his work.
