The Grayston Unity presents our mad annual Christmas Party Our new annual tradition, with a band that was number in John Peel's Festive 50, not once but twice!
The Cuban Boys were by some distance the biggest band on the Radio 1 John Peel show in 1999/2000 scoring two Festive 50 number 1s. They placed on the Festive 50 ten times and
recorded two sessions for John.
Their million selling hit single Cognoscenti Vs Intelligentsia was the 1999 Festive 50 number one, battled Cliff Richard for the Xmas number 1 and described as “eloquent in its sheer vacuity” by Waldemar Januszczak Legendary BBC Producer Mike Engles included the band as one of the top 10 Maida Vale BBC
sessions of all time, alongside Nirvana, Ivor Cutler and the Damned.
Also expect an appearance from HACKER T DOG!
