Christmas Lecture
About this Event
Noted garden historian, writer and lecturer, Richard Wheeler, will deliver the 2026 CGT Christmas Lecture entitled, The Choice of Hercules: Vice and Virtue in the Eighteenth Century.
Our speaker: as the former National Trust’s National Specialist in Garden History, Richard led major restoration projects including Erddig, Chirk and Chastleton. He was closely involved in the acquisition by the NT of Stowe Landscape Gardens and later wrote the first Conservation Plan for the site, which continues to guide its restoration today.
Richard's talk will be accompanied by seasonal refreshments.
