Christmas in the city: An International Student Festive Walk

🎄 You’re invited to a magical evening in the heart of Sydney.

Join fellow international students for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony – a festive celebration filled with lights, music and community spirit.

Starting at Town Hall steps at 6:30pm, take a photo with our Aussie Santa and stroll together down to Martin Place to see the Christmas tree lighting, fireworks, and festive lights.

· Date & time: Thursday 27 November 2025, from 6:30pm

· Meeting point: Sydney Town Hall Steps

· What to expect:

• a warm welcome from the City of Sydney team
• a festive photo with our Aussie Santa
• a free Christmas food box
• a joyful stroll to Martin Place for the Christmas tree lighting
• dazzling fireworks, twinkling lights, and live music
• a chance to meet new friends, connect with City of Sydney international student ambassadors and celebrate together.

We recommend you wear comfortable shoes and encourage festive accessories (think Santa hats, reindeer antlers, sparkles!)
