Christmas in the Air is a community outreach event hosted by EAA Chapter 321 Young Eagles at Reading Regional Airport, centered around providing free airplane rides to children ages 8–17. This annual holiday celebration brings families together for a fun-filled day that promotes aviation and creates memorable experiences for children of all ages.
In addition to free flights, the event features a variety of activities, including local vendors, food, music, games, holiday activities, and visits with Santa.
Free flights are available through the EAA Young Eagles program for children ages 8–17. A legal guardian must be present on the day of the event to complete required forms. Due to time, weather conditions, and volunteer availability, the number of flights offered may be limited. Flights will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no pre-registration for flights.
For many years, the RDG Airport Community has come together to support this event through volunteer efforts, sponsorships, and donations. Contributions help make this experience possible by providing free airplane rides, along with games, toys, snacks, and activities for children attending the event.
