Christmas Eve Services

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington has something for everyone on December 24. From joyful sparks of tradition to the shared hush of Silent Night, we gather justice, joy, and the spirit of the season into a meaningful celebration.

All are welcome here. If you’re seeking a progressive, inclusive community this holiday season, we hope you’ll join us on Christmas Eve.

We offer four service options on Christmas Eve, we welcome you to choose the times that work best for you!

2pm: Teeny Tiny Christmas-- All are welcome as we celebrate by sharing joy with those we love! This 25-minute service is perfect for anyone who prefers a shorter, more flexible, and interactive worship experience — whether you need extra room to wiggle or can’t attend in the evening, come share in the spirit of the season!

4pm & 6pm: Family Evening Services-- These services are wonderful for children, families, and all who enjoy celebrating Christmas with children — everyone is welcome! We’ll sing together, light candles, and share cookies and cider afterward. Both services are identical, choose the time that works best for you.

8pm: A Very Jazzy Christmas-- We will weave classic carols, jazz standards, contemporary readings, and the ancient Christmas story into a joyful, soulful experience. This festive, spirit-laced service will guide us through an inspiring evening. We’ll close by singing Silent Night and sharing the light of Christmas.

Finally, enjoy our Sparks of Tradition! Every year, we offer cookies and warm cider for all to enjoy after the services. We also share the warmth with our Mitten Tree- bring gloves, scarves, and hats for all ages and genders and join us in decorating our tree. All dressed up for Christmas? Enjoy our photo station to snap a family photo or selfie!
