Christmas Candlelight Ceremony

Fame Preservation Group's annual Christmas Candlelight Ceremony is officially on the books for December 19th at the Fame Confederate Monument.
As we plan to honor the Confederate dead represented by Fame and within the Confederate Mass Grave thereof, we will be decorating those 175 headstones with weighted white tealight bags that will illuminate for that week's time leading up to Christmas day.
This ceremonial outing is intended to best illustrate our appreciation of their service, recognition of their willingness to put others before themselves, and to capture the emotional anguish of death for those loved ones through loss.
Volunteers will be asked to meet earlier that day at 2:00pm to place the bags, light the battery powered LED lights, and drop rocks into the bags to keep them upright.
This will be our last event of 2026, come out and contribute to our community's heritage enrichment:
