We will be conducting a Christmas Bird Count along the Blazing Star Trail and you are invited to join. The Blazing Star Trail is a 2.0 mile loop. We will be starting at the trailhead parking lot on Lincoln Hills Rd. The count is expected to end between 11am and noon.
Winter bird counts are largely based on visual id; bringing binoculars is highly recommended. If you do not know how to identify birds by sight, you can still assist in spotting the birds. For best results, we will try to keep our volume down so as not to scare away the birds.
The program is weather permitting and will be cancelled in the case of rain, snow, ice, or lightning. We recommend bringing a water bottle, wearing closed-toed shoes, and dressing for the weather. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
